Special Night for the Kids - Saturday in Lancaster

by Lafayette County Promotions LLC on 06/23/15

We have a very exciting announcement for Saturday’s race in Lancaster. Thanks to local radio stations and the #42 SportMod of Wes Digman, we will be having some on-air interviews and a kids’ special before the races Saturday night. Kari Ruf, Lafayette County Promotions board member will be interviewing with Big Radio in Monroe this evening from the track in Lancaster and Wes and Kari will be headed to the WGLR 97.7 studio in Platteville Friday morning to share all the details of the race and prerace activities. Stay tuned for exact air times.

When the gates open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Wes will be there with his car on the backside of the grandstands to hand out checkered flags and trading cards at his home track where he first started nine years ago racing four cylinders. Kids of all ages will be able to sit in his car, take pictures and get his autograph.  He’ll be there until hot laps start around 6:00 p.m. so make sure to get there early for a one-time meet and greet. A special thank you to Badgerland Financial, Leahy’s Collision, Corey Cullen, #01R Race Team and #15 Rupp Racing for donating more than 375 flags for the cause. For kids coming to the pits during the races with their favorite racer, we know you don’t always s get a flag. So, this week we’ll have seven-year-old, Miles Redfearn, our special helper in the pit shack handing out flags to you kids too! It’s going to be a fantastic night of racing. If you can’t get there between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. to meet Wes, head to the pits after the races and meet him and all the other drivers! We have some of the best racers in the tri-state area, and they’d be happy to meet all the young fans out there and sign your flag!
